Job Description :

Reed Finance are currently assisting an established client in Crawley who are seeking a Finance Manager to join their existing team. The role requires someone who relishes a challenge, who can prioritise their own workload, and who isn’t afraid to use their influence to improve processes and systems. Reporting to the MD as Finance Manager you will be responsible for all day-to-day accounting activities as well as month end and year end processing and reporting.    This is great role for someone looking to spread their wings into a more autonomous role or alternatively someone who has a wealth of experience but may be looking to move to a different type of role.  

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Sales and Purchase Ledgers
  • Ensure all balance sheets are properly reconciled
  • Prepare and report monthly management accounts, profit & loss, balance sheet and cashflow forecasts
  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns
  • Administering Payroll including necessary HMRC returns
  • Manage the team’s priorities and workload
  • Manage day to day relations with the bank, HMRC and external accountants
  • Liaising with our external accountants to prepare financial statements
  • Some general office management

Requirements:

  • Part/newly qualified or Qualified by Experience accountant
  • Previous hands-on experience in a SME business
  • Xero and/or Sage 50 experience highly desirable
  • Proficient in the use of Sage Payroll 
  • Effective IT skills to include Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to produce spreadsheets and present financial data in a clear and concise manner
  • Able to work on own initiative, balancing priorities and workloads
