Finance Director - Marc Daniels : Job Details

Our client is a successful, privately owned services business experiencing rapid growth based in West London. With strong foundations and ambitious expansion plans, the business is seeking to appoint a Finance Director to lead the finance function and play a pivotal role in shaping strategy at board level.

This is the number 1 finance role reporting directly to the Managing Director and sitting on the board. It requires a candidate who can combine strategic insight with leadership and delivering strong financial controls. You will be both the guardian of financial integrity and a key commercial partner, driving performance and supporting future growth, including potential M&A activity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the finance function, ensuring robust controls, reporting, and compliance.
• Act as a trusted partner to the MD and board, providing insight and challenge to support decision-making.
• Drive improvements in finance systems and processes to create scalable, efficient platforms for growth.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.
• Play a key role in evaluating and executing acquisitions, including due diligence and integration.
• Provide hands-on support across all areas of finance as required in a dynamic SME environment.

Candidate Profile:

We are seeking a commercially astute finance leader with the ability to balance strategic leadership with operational delivery.

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent).
• Experience operating at Finance Director level within a service and/or operational environment.
• Strong track record in systems/process improvement and business partnering.
• Exposure to M&A (transaction support and integration) is highly desirable.
• Hands-on, pragmatic, and comfortable rolling up your sleeves while operating at board level.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills, with credibility to challenge and support the leadership team.
