Finance Director - Robert Half : Job Details

Robert Half Talent Solutions are seeking a permanent Finance Director for a growing manufacturing SME based near Merthyr.

The Finance Director is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the business. The Finance Director will be a key member of the senior management team, providing strategic financial guidance and ensuring robust financial controls. This role requires a hands-on, commercially focused individual with experience in a fast-paced, robust PE-backed environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Leadership & Strategy:

• Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company's growth objectives and PE investor expectations.
• Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to the MD and senior management team.

Financial Reporting & Analysis:

• Oversee the production of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Manage the relationship with external auditors and ensure compliance with all accounting standards.

Cash Flow Management & Working Capital:

• Manage cash flow and working capital to optimise liquidity and support business operations.

Manufacturing Specific Financial Management:

• Provide financial analysis of manufacturing costs, including variance analysis, and drive cost reduction initiatives.
• Manage inventory valuation and control processes.

PE Relationship Management:

• Act as the primary point of contact for the PE investor on financial matters.
• Prepare and present financial reports and analyses to the PE investor.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
• Significant experience as a Finance Director or senior finance manager in a manufacturing SME environment, ideally within a PE-backed business.
