Finance Controller - Reed : Job Details

Reed are looking for a dynamic Financial Controller to join their client's team. This role is ideal for a committed individual with a strong background in finance management and accounting. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing financial operations, developing plans for financial growth, and ensuring compliance with accounting regulations.

• Preparing financial reports and analysing financial data.
• Monitoring internal controls and overseeing income statements.
• Managing regular credit control, issuing invoices and credit notes.
• Participating in budgeting processes and managing financial transactions.
• Streamlining accounting functions and operations.
• Evaluating and managing risk, including analysing new customer and supplier accounts.
• Coordinating audit processes and assisting in developing pricing structures.
• Filing quarterly VAT returns and preparing monthly CIS.
• Coordinating with Credit Insurance Broker and assisting in preparation of R&D relief claims.
• Expensing petty cash transactions and invoicing rent for ROI properties.
• Recording accurate disposal of assets and maintaining the Fixed Asset register.

• Master’s degree in accounting or equivalent, CIMA or ACCA preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years proven experience in finance management and management accounting.
• Minimum of 3 years proven experience of producing audited accounts.
• Understanding of import/export and customs entry and its impact on VAT.
• Strong leadership qualities with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Sound knowledge of accounting fundamentals and auditing experience.
• Compliance oriented with proficiency in Sage 50 accounting software.
• Strong analytical skills.
