We are seeking a Financial Controller to support our Finance & Operations Director in the smooth and efficient day-to-day running of the finance department. This role is integral to managing the organisation’s short-term liquid resources and providing accurate, comprehensive financial information.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:• Oversee the finance department, including Accounts Payable & Receivable, ensuring accurate transaction recording within the accounting system.• Conduct general bookkeeping, including ledger entries and employee expense claims.• Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts, reports, and KPIs.• Complete month-end/year-end close procedures to meet reporting deadlines.• Maintain rolling cash flow forecasts and manage short-term cash flows.• Assist in compiling and maintaining annual budgets, reporting variances against actuals.• Prepare and file quarterly UK VAT returns and assist with bi-monthly Irish & Dutch VAT returns.• Liaise with external accountants for the preparation of annual accounts.• Maintain the fixed asset register and depreciation schedules.• Reconcile balance sheet nominal accounts accurately.• Implement and maintain accounting systems, processes, and internal controls.• Provide detailed sales reports and profitability analysis by customer.

Required Skills & Qualifications:• Business acumen with strong mathematical, statistical, and analytical thinking.• Accountability, attention to detail, and collaboration skills.• Personal credibility, results orientation, and commitment to self-development.• Proficiency in written and oral communication, as well as numeracy.• Part-qualified or qualified by experience.• Minimum of 5 years of accounting and finance experience.
