Purpose of the role

To report and oversee all aspects of the companies finance procedures in-line with the applicable processes and procedures with direct involvement with the MD/COO and managing two reports.

Key Deliverables:

  • Prepare monthly financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, budget, cash flow, variance analysis and commentaries. Submit monthly financial statements to Fortegra Europe Limited.
  • Prepare year end accounts within defined timescales. Liaise with external accountants, preparing all schedules and working with them to produce annual financial statements. Submit year end accounts t.
  • Produce an annual budget in-line with the requirements set out and assist in a company-wide budgetary development and planning. Submit annual budget .
  • Oversee the financial statement for any outstanding policy administration activity
  • Support the finance governance and control activity for ITC to ensure compliance with Group policies.
  • Support the business and its Parent Company through audit requirements in conjunction with the Parent Company’s financial reporting team.
  • Undertake detailed financial reviews of new applications to the Network to evaluate creditworthiness and financial stability.
  • Process VAT returns and carry out monthly VAT reconciliations.
  • Oversee and verify payroll calculations monthly.
  • Carry out bank reconciliations and administer banking roles in-line with company policy and limits of authority.
  • Oversee all tax and regulatory/compliance issues and report any findings to the Board .
  • Produce monthly financial Executive Team reports to include all aspects of the finance departments workflow.
  • Day to day management of the finance department including hosting team meetings.
  • Completing annual appraisals and bi-monthly 1-2-1s, providing training and development when required.
  • Develop all necessary policies and procedures to ensure the sound financial management and control of the company’s business.
  • Implement strong internal controls to minimise the risk of fraud and error.
  • Ensure personal training and competency requirements are in line and up to date with company policy.
  • Understand and compliantly work within regulation such as the Data Protection Act 2018.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including Health & Safety, Equal Opportunities, Data Protection, Code of Conduct, and Information Security.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Strong management accounts experience
  • Sage accounting experience
  • ACCA or ACA qualified
  • Excellent understanding of Microsoft excel
  • At least 8 years financial accounting experience in a commercial environment
  • Prior supervisory/management experience of a small finance team.

Other Significant Role Requirements:

  • Comply at all times with the FCA’s (and other applicable regulators) principles, commitments and codes of practice.
  • Must achieve the minimum level of competency for the role relating to company, regulatory, accounting, and legal standards, as defined by the company.
  • Ensure awareness of and adopt any changes in regulatory practice in relation to financial accounting.
  • Report all failures to comply with requirements immediately the COO.
  • There will be meetings over teams with the VP Controller who is based in the London office to discuss the month end as he is responsible for submitting it to the US. The meeting is held over Teams. There will also be ad-hoc meetings with the person who is responsible for Corporate Development & Strategy, again over Teams and he is also based in the London office.

Scope of Role:

-Full time, Permanent.

-Normal working hours are 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, although some flexibility is required as the requirements/needs of the business.

-Minimum 3 days office-based

-25 days holiday as a minimum increasing by one day per year up to a maximum of 30 days.

Salary : 60000 - 65000
