Macildowie Finance have a brilliant opportunity for a Finance Business Partner to join the well-established team at our clients' flagship office in Derby. Reporting to one of the Finance Managers, you will be part of a team of Finance Business Partners, working regularly with senior stakeholders to provide financial support and guidance across the organisation and contributing to the overall financial performance. What's the job?

• Financial Leadership: Serve as the primary contact for all finance matters, providing financial support and guidance across the directorate. Be the financial voice for all profit and loss (P&L) and Capital Expenditure (Capex) queries, ensuring timely and high-quality outputs.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the preparation and consolidation of budgets and forecasts and conduct variance analysis, providing narratives to support financial plans.
• Management Accounting: Oversee period-end management accounting tasks, ensuring the integrity of financial transactions. Perform detailed variance analysis, compile directorate-level commentaries, and manage balance sheet reconciliations. Identify and report risks and opportunities.
• Reporting: Prepare and distribute management reports, conducting regular financial performance review meetings with budget owners.
• Business Case Support: Lead financial aspects of business cases from initiation through to post-investment appraisals.
• Audit Support: Actively participate in half-year and year-end accounting activities, providing support for both internal and external audits.
• FP&A Support: Develop financial reporting and analysis to facilitate effective decision-making.
• Collaboration: Work with the Shared Service Centre, addressing queries and providing financial accounting support to the business.

What are you like?

• CIMA/ACA/ACCA Qualified.
• You have excellent attention to detail, an ability to multi-task, and a well-developed understanding of financial modelling and systems.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• A motivated team player with a flexible, organised, and supportive approach to work.
• This may be a given, but proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is essential.
