Job Title - Accounts AssistantLocation - Kirkby-in-AshfieldSalary - Up to £28,000Type - Permanent, Full Time (Office-Based)

We are currently recruiting for a confident and versatile Accounts Assistant to join a small and supportive finance team based in Kirkby-in-Ashfield.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is highly proficient in Microsoft Excel (you will be tested at interview stage) and who enjoys variety in their day-to-day responsibilities across the finance function.

Responsibilities:

• Support both Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions
• Post daily cash transactions and maintain accurate ledgers
• Reconcile supplier statements and investigate discrepancies
• Respond to customer and supplier queries via phone and email
• Assist with regular reporting and general finance administration
• Provide cover for incoming calls and assist with internal and external queries when needed
• Play a key role in maintaining and improving finance processes and systems
• Offer general support to the wider finance team during peak periods

Requirements:

• Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar finance role
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel - an Excel test will be part of the interview process
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to manage your own workload while working collaboratively within a team
• A proactive attitude, willingness to learn, and a flexible approach to day-to-day tasks
• AAT qualification (or studying towards) is preferred but not essential
