#BelongWithUs Come and join us as a customer focused and results driven Finance Assistant.The Role: As the Finance Assistant, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely reconciliation of bank accounts, the efficient uploading and management of bank statements, and the prompt resolution of related queries. This role ensures the integrity of financial data, maintains accurate cash balances and reconciliation.Key Responsibilities Bank ReconciliationPerform daily, weekly, or monthly reconciliation of bank statements with general ledger entries including foreign payments.Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies between bank statements and cash book balances.Prepare and post adjusting journal entries to correct errors.Ensure timely and accurate completion of all bank reconciliations.Maintain organized and accurate records of all reconciliations.Bank Statement ManagementUpload and manage electronic bank statements into the accounting system.Ensure the accuracy and completeness of uploaded statements.Respond to internal and external queries related to bank transactions, reconciliations, and statements.Document all investigation and resolution activities.Data Entry and ProcessingAccurate and timely input of financial data into accounting software.Process and post bank transactions.Maintain up-to-date records of bank account information.Supplier Payment ProcessingInput supplier payments into the banking system accurately and efficiently.Ensure all payments are supported by proper documentation (e.g., invoices, payment requests).Reconcile supplier payments with bank statements and internal records.Investigate and resolve any discrepancies related to supplier payments.Assist with other accounting tasks as assigned.Contribute to process improvement initiatives.Adhere to company financial policies and procedures.This is a hybrid-based opportunity with true flexibility to work from home, but you should be within commutable distance of our office in Crick, Northamptonshire. You: You’ll live and breathe our Customer First ethos, with an innovative and agile approach to problem-solving.  You’ll enjoy working collaboratively with the wider Finance team and you’ll thrive on delivering excellent support to the wider team.Skills and competencies Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Proficiency in Google sheets.Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Ability to maintain confidentiality.Excellent customer service skills.It is highly likely you will have worked in any of the following roles and/or markets, and worked with the following products and/or services: Accounts Assistant, Accounts Executive, Assistant Accountant, Financial Analyst, Finance Assistant, Finance, ACCA, CIMA, ACA, AAT, Renewables, Sustainability, Construction, Building ProductsUs: From boilers to bathroom suites, tubing to towel rails and everything in between, City Plumbing has all the products our customers need to complete the job.
