Finance Assistant (Yachts) • Annual Salary: £35,000 - £38,000 plus full study support • Location: City of London • Job Type: Hybrid (4 days in office, 1 day from home) Join a specialist Lloyd's of London broker as a Finance Assistant, where you will be part of an ambitious and rapidly growing team managing a large portfolio of UK and international business. This role is ideal for someone with a background in bookkeeping or accounting within financial services who is eager to advance their career. Day-to-day of the role: • Manage and process the month-end financial reporting for the Yacht account. • Organise timely BACS premium payments and issue payment bordereaux. • Reconcile multi-currency bank accounts. • Process accurate and timely claims payments. • Track and follow up on overdue premiums, ensuring compliance with payment terms. • Send cancellation notices for overdue premiums. • Prepare monthly performance reports for the Managing Director. • Reconcile monthly income: premiums received, payments made, and commissions paid. • Collaborate with the wider yacht team to resolve finance-related issues. • Maintain relationships with insurers, agents, and brokers, resolving queries promptly. • Provide general finance team support as needed. Required Skills & Qualifications: • Currently working in an accounting/finance role, ideally working towards an accounting-based qualification. • Strong communication skills for liaising with underwriters, claims managers, and external partners. • Analytical and problem-solving abilities with experience in interpreting financial data. • Fast learner, able to thrive in a dynamic environment. Reed Company Confidential • Experience in financial reporting, accounts payable/receivable, and claims processes. • Knowledge of insurance financial processes, including premium collections and claims management (preferred, but not essential). • Self-motivated, efficient, and adaptable – a career-driven individual with a positive attitude. • Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office. • Experience with multi-currency BACS payments. • Familiarity with an MGA finance system and QuickBooks is preferred. • Collaborative team player.
