The Company
A well respected and award winning business in their industry. Looking for an experienced Finance Assistant to join them on a full time basis, for a minimum of 6 months. Part time 4/5 can also be considered. Mostly remote working with 1-2 days per week in the office.
The Role
A busy accounting function where you will take responsibility for a number of duties, including, but not limited to:
- Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process and manage incoming and outgoing invoices. Ensure timely and accurate payments to suppliers and receipt of payments from customers. Reconcile accounts and ensure all transactions are recorded correctly.
- Bank Reconciliations: Perform daily, weekly, or monthly bank reconciliations. Investigate and resolve discrepancies between the bank statements and internal records.
- Budgeting and Forecasting Support: Assist with the preparation of departmental budgets and forecasts. Track and report on actual versus budgeted performance, providing variance analysis.
- VAT Returns: Prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with UK tax regulations.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare periodic financial reports for management, providing clear insights into the company’s financial performance. Assist in the preparation of year-end accounts for auditors.
- General Financial Administration: Provide general administrative support to the finance team.
- Ad-hoc Financial Tasks: Support senior finance staff with ad-hoc tasks as required, such as research, reporting, and system improvements.
About You:
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, or similar).
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and other office tools.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
