We are proud to be supporting our client, a respected and innovative organisation, in their search for a Finance Assistant to join their team on a 12-month fixed-term basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated finance professional with strong Accounts Receivable (AR) skills and a solid grounding in Accounts Payable (AP) to make a real impact in a hands-on, varied role.

You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day transactional finance operations, supporting financial reporting and planning processes, and ensuring the delivery of accurate and timely financial information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the purchase ledger, including invoice posting (multi-currency: €EUR/£GBP)
  • Process supplier onboarding, including documentation and sanctions checks
  • Prepare supplier payments, bank transactions, and customer refunds
  • Manage the fixed asset register and related postings
  • Perform daily bank reconciliations and maintain cash flow analysis
  • Complete month-end closure tasks for purchase ledger, cashbook, and bank
  • Oversee the sales ledger, including:
    • Daily postings and reporting
    • Customer account maintenance and credit checks
    • Credit control and debt reduction
    • Managing accounts through to litigation if necessary
  • Prepare month-end journals, prepayments, and accruals
  • Support audit preparation and compliance reporting
  • Contribute to sustainability and regulatory reporting
  • Provide cross-functional finance support as needed
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience in a fast-paced finance environment
  • Strong AR expertise and confident AP knowledge
  • AAT Level 3 qualified (or equivalent) with at least 2 years’ experience
  • Proficient in Sage 50 and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Strong communication and relationship-building abilities
  • A proactive, resourceful, and solutions-focused mindset
  • Ability to work independently and take full ownership of responsibilities
  • Must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle
