Finance Assistant - 6-Month Contract (Potential to Go Permanent)Location: Watford (Office-based with some flexibility)Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 (pro rata)Start: ASAPWe're supporting a well-known global financial services business in Watford as they look to bring in an experienced Finance Assistant on an initial 6-month contract. While this is a fixed-term role to begin with, there's a strong possibility it could become permanent for the right person.This is a great opportunity for someone with strong reconciliation and finance operations experience who's confident working across multiple entities and contributing to process improvements.The role will involve:* Reconciling intercompany balances and investigating discrepancies* Clearing suspense accounts and chasing unreconciled items* Supporting with PSA (PAYE Settlement Agreement) calculations* Helping allocate balances accurately and efficiently* Supporting compliance checks (Know Your Supplier)* Managing supplier, broker and employee account setup* Administering the bank portal and maintaining the payment rota* Working closely with teams across Finance and Operations to meet deadlines* Getting involved in ongoing process improvement projectsWhat they're looking for:* 5+ years' experience in a finance or accounting support role* AAT qualified or actively studying* Strong reconciliation and finance admin experience (AP/AR knowledge useful)* Comfortable with Excel and finance/accounting software* A proactive and organised team player who enjoys problem-solving* Right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship)Why consider this role?* Broad exposure across Finance and Operations* Supportive, collaborative team* Strong chance of becoming permanent* Well-known, stable business with international reachVitae Financial Recruitment Ltd is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.
