Purpose of the Job:
We are seeking a proactive and motivated Finance & Operations Officer to support our Finance & Operations team in delivering vital business support and operational activities for the Follicular Lymphoma Foundation. This role will provide direct support to the Head of Finance, taking on specific responsibilities while contributing to the overall efficiency of the Foundation.

This is a developmental role offering broad exposure to finance, accounting, operations, and governance within a growing charity. You will gain valuable experience across multiple business areas and have the opportunity to shape the role as the Foundation evolves.

Main Responsibilities:
Finance
- Process Purchase Ledger, payments and expenses, ensuring timely and accurate handling.
- Review and track accounts and corporate card usage to ensure compliance.
- Process expense claims in accordance with FLF’s Financial Policies and Procedures (FPP).
- Perform data entry of revenue and expenditure into relevant financial systems.
- Administer Gift Aid submissions in a timely and accurate manner.
- Prepare external supplier payment runs and set up payments for review and approval.
- Daily bank reconciliation
Donation & Gift Administration
- Ensure all donations are accurately recorded and administered, particularly during major fundraising events.
- Facilitate the distribution of patient and supporter vouchers.
- Maintain accurate documentation and a robust audit trail for all transactions.
- Upload and manage donation data in the CRM Sales Force (Customer Relationship Management) system.
HR & Finance Report Production
- Generate ad hoc reports as requested by management.
- Support the Head of Finance with audit preparation, annual returns, and compliance submissions to the Charity Commission and other regulatory bodies.
- Utilise the HR system (Breathe) for reporting and data extraction.
- Review and track staff holiday records.
CRM - Salesforce
- Act as the internal lead (“champion”) for the Salesforce CRM system.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data uploaded to the CRM.
- Perform monthly reconciliations between CRM-reported transactions and actual revenue records.
Other Duties
- Collaborate closely with the Fundraising Team to support revenue projections and assess financial risk, while ensuring outstanding commitments are followed up and banked efficiently.
- Work in alignment with the Foundation’s values and maintain the reputation and standing of the Foundation.
- Ensure confidentiality is always maintained and adhere to General Data Protection Regulations across all areas of work.
- Carry out any other duties within the scope and purpose of the role as requested by their line manager.
Skills & Competencies:
Essential Criteria
- Highly organised, disciplined, and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Eager to learn with a flexible and adaptable mindset
- Strong numerical skills with a high level of attention to detail
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a finance-related role
- Effective time management and the ability to prioritise workload
- Strong team player with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships
- Proficient in Excel and spreadsheet use; comfortable working across multiple systems and data sources.
Desirable Criteria
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability
- Experience in credit control and familiarity with various finance systems
- Proficient in Salesforce CRM
- Experience using accounting platforms such as Xero and QuickBooks
- Skilled in report creation and data interpretation
- Previous experience working in the not-for-profit or charity sector
- Solid general IT skills, with the ability to quickly learn new tools and software
- Experience using and AI support
Hours of Work, Holidays & Benefits
This is a full-time role with working hours generally 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday.
