Location: Derby
Salary range: £60,000 - £65,000
This is a leadership role which requires a hands-on approach to performing accounting duties whilst also supporting with other operational tasks.
The role will cover:
- Project Cost Accounting – supporting in the preparation of financial evaluations and proposals, and monthly project reporting and analysis
- Assuring the integrity of accounting and operating data
- Maintaining financial and operating controls
- Supporting internal and external financial audit and tax requests and quarterly VAT filings
- Provide support to corporate A/R function to ensure timely and accurate customer invoicing and collections
- Ensuring all reporting is compliant with statutory laws and regulations
- Ensuring compliance with all HMRC requirements
- Presenting varied reports and results to senior executives / stakeholders
- In addition to financial duties, the role includes Employee Management - recruitment, onboarding and offboarding processes, appraisals, and maintaining personnel documentation
Your background:
- Must be a Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
- Have c10 years’ experience in an accounting role, which includes experience working in a management / leadership capacity
- Adept to working independently and making proactive improvements
- Able to show a supportive, collaborative approach across all business stakeholders
- Excellent judgement and decision-making maker skills in an agile environment
- PC literate & skilled with all Microsoft Office based applications
- Able to support non-finance teams such as HR and administrative functions
- Experience in an engineering / manufacturing environment is desirable
