THE GIG Reporting into the Finance Business Partner (FBP), the role of the finance Analyst - Digital is to provide commercial and financial support to the Ecommerce trading teams. Producing and analysing trade reports, providing variance analysis, and managing opex with a focus on marketing spend. THE STUFF THAT SETS YOU APART
  • Prepare daily and weekly trade reports, analysing performance against forecasts and last year. Utilise Power BI channel reports to understand performance and summarise in weekly commentary for senior stakeholders.
  • Produce ad-hoc summaries and reports to support insights, such as across promotional periods. Collaborate with the Ecommerce BI analyst to automate any recurring reporting.
  • Produce the opex Budget and subsequent forecasts, collaborating with relevant non-finance teams to ensure assumptions are up to date.
  • Prepare monthly accruals and prepayments for opex including Marketing spend, merchant fees, customer services, professional fees, and platform costs.
  • Closely monitor spend against forecasts, partnering with relevant teams to understand and control variances.
  • Regularly review marketing spend across the various channels (paid search, paid social and affiliates) with the digital marketing team to ensure efficient investments to maximise ROI.
  • Support the finance business partner with budget & forecast modelling for demand KPIs.
  • Support with the production of monthly trade reports for distribution to senior stakeholders.
  • Support ad-hoc projects such as the creation of business cases to obtain sign off for projects to drive growth and maximise profitability, for example for on-site tools or new payment methods.

  • Part-Qualified Accountant or have appropriate experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in working with Digital channels in a retail environment desirable, but not essential.
  • Strong excel skills (confident with using formulas such as vlookups and sumifs) and experience working with large data sets and forecast models.
  • Finance systems at an operational level, the use of D365 is desirable but not essential.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to speak to finance and non-finance colleagues.
  • An analytical and commercial mind set with the confidence to ask questions and discuss ideas.
  • Team player with a can-do attitude.
  • Proven ability to think creatively with strong problem-solving skills to drive continuous improvement in a dynamic working environment.
