Job Description :

Field Service Engineer / Multi-Skilled Technician who has a sound mechanical and electrical maintenance background, with experience in a mobile role visiting commercial sites to carry out servicing, repairs and general maintenance on a range of equipment, is required for a well-established company that supplies a range of balers and compactors and other specialised heavy-duty equipment to commercial businesses.

If you’ve worked as a Maintenance Engineer / Service Technician / Mobile Multi-Skilled Engineer / Field Technician / M&E Engineer / Equipment Engineer or have experience as a Plant Maintenance Engineer / Plant Fitter who would like a mobile role, then we’d like to hear from you.

FULL PRODUCT TRAINING PROVIDED

Although full product training is provided you must have previous experience working in an engineering based role fixing, repairing and maintaining machinery, plant equipment or similar type of machines.

SALARY: £35,000 - £38,000 per annum Van (with Fuel Card) Tools Mobile Laptop PPE Full Product and HSE Training

LOCATION: Based from home you will cover South East England (this is a mobile role and you will be travelling daily to client sites across your territory)

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: Monday to Friday (Paid from Door to Door)

WORK/LIFE BALANCE: The need to do weekend / overnight working (for which overtime is paid) and / or stay away from home is very rare

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Field Service Engineer / Multi-Skilled Technicianwho has a sound mechanical and electrical maintenance background, with experience in a mobile role visiting commercial sites to carry out servicing, repairs and general maintenance on a range of equipment.

Founded in 1987, the company has an established reputation as being a leading UK supplier of waste compactors, balers and other waste equipment. In its 30th anniversary year, the company was acquired by an Employee Ownership Trust and is proud to be owned and managed by its employees.

Working as a Field Service Engineer / Multi-Skilled Technician you will be responsible for providing on-site support, installation, and maintenance of compactors and balers on Customer sites.

As a Field Service Engineer / Multi-Skilled Technician you will also be directly responsible for maintaining a professional and competent image of both self and the Company as well as carrying out the Field Service tasks efficiently and effectively.

As a successful candidate you will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in various environments.

DUTIES

Your duties as a Field Service Engineer / Multi-Skilled Technician include:

  • Successfully deliver technical services such as repairs, preventative maintenance services, site surveys, training, installations and courtesy visits
  • Fault find and repair electrical, mechanical and hydraulic equipment and train Customer staff in the safe operation of waste balers and compactors
  • Ensure that all equipment supplied is safely installed, maintained and repaired to the highest standards in accordance with company guidelines, so that the quality of service received by customers is second to none
  • Provide the company with detailed and accurate estimates for breakdown and remedial repairs, detailing parts, labour and resources required to complete the necessary work
  • Liaise with site staff during each visit to ensure that their expectations are fully met and each problem has been resolved to the customer’s satisfaction

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Ideally you will be an experienced Maintenance Engineer / Service Technician / Mobile Multi-Skilled Engineer / Field Technician / M&E Engineer / Equipment Engineer / Plant Maintenance Engineer / Plant Fitter or have worked in a similar role within the engineering sector
  • A good standard of education to a minimum of GCSE level (inc. Maths and English) / City and Guilds
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting / diagnostic / fault finding skills
  • Able to work well on own initiative, remaining calm under pressure and be able to demonstrate an organised and methodical approach to work.
  • Organised and professional with sound analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively while prioritising tasks
  • Good customer facing skills
  • A full Driving Licence is essential for this role
  • Previous welding experience would be desirable
