Family Law Solicitor – Reading (Hybrid) – 2–4+ Years PQE
About the Firm
Our client is a well-established law firm with multiple offices, including Reading and Henley. The firm’s Family Department has grown by 25% in the last year, with increasing demand for divorce, financial remedy and children matters. The team is described as busy, collaborative, and supportive, offering excellent opportunities to develop skills alongside experienced solicitors.
The Role
You will inherit a ready-made caseload and work closely with senior family solicitors. While the firm is ideally seeking someone with 2–4 years PQE, applications from more senior candidates are welcome.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of family law matters from day one, including:
- Divorce and separation
- Financial remedy proceedings
- Private children law cases
- Cohabitation and pre/post-nuptial agreements
- Work alongside senior solicitors on high-value or complex matters
- Support the team during high workload periods and maternity leave cover
- Deliver a high standard of client care and maintain confidentiality
- Be present in the Reading office to foster collaboration and development

Ideal Candidate
- 2–4 years PQE preferred, though more senior candidates will be considered
- Experience across a broad range of family law matters
- Ability to manage a caseload with minimal supervision
- Strong billing track record or potential to build this skill
- Personable and open to mentoring and support
- Willing to work primarily from the Reading office initially, with potential for hybrid work later
- Organised and able to work well in a busy team environment
