Job Title: Factory Supervisor

Location: Hythe, Kent

Salary: up to £35,000

Hours: Monday to Thursday 7am - 5pm and Friday 8am - 12pm

Role Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Factory Supervisor to join our clients busy and dynamic manufacturing team. As the Factory Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations on the production floor and ensuring efficiency, quality and safety standards are met. This role requires strong leadership skills, the ability to motivate a diverse team and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities within your new role would be to:

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of 16 production staff to meet output and quality targets.
• Monitor production schedules and adjust workflows to meet deadlines.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
• Conduct regular inspections of machinery and equipment.
• Report or resolve issues as needed.
• Evaluate, train and coach production staff, where necessary.
• Monitor production metrics and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to management.
• Conduct regular audits to identify areas for improvement.
• Work closely with management to implement process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and ensure materials are available for production as needed.
• Resolve worker issues and escalate as appropriate to ensure a harmonious work environment.

Experience and skills required for this position:

• Proven experience as a Factory Supervisor or Team Leader in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of production processes and machinery.
• Ideally you will have experience or knowledge of welding, fabrication and CNC programming.
• Excellent leadership and management skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and problem-solve in a fast-paced setting.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Flexibility to overtime if required.
