We are supporting a leading specialist logistics business in their search for a Maintenance Engineer. This is a full-time, permanent role offering day-based hours, job stability, and the opportunity to take ownership of building and site maintenance within a busy operational environment.As Maintenance Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the site’s facilities. You’ll manage scheduled and reactive building maintenance, liaise with external contractors, and provide hands-on support to keep the site safe, compliant, and operating efficiently.Core responsibilities include:
- Carrying out planned preventative building and site maintenance
- Responding to breakdowns or urgent building repairs across the site
- Liaising with external contractors and overseeing permit-to-work processes
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records and departmental KPI data
- Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation
- Reviewing and updating work instructions to keep them fit for purpose
- Obtaining quotes for building and facilities-related parts or services
- Stepping in to cover senior engineers during holidays when required
- Participating in an on-call rota to provide out-of-hours support
About you:
- Strong background in facilities or building maintenance
- Electrical or multi-skilled engineering knowledge beneficial
- Good understanding of health and safety legislation – IOSH qualification desirable
- Experience liaising with and managing external contractors
- Organised, methodical, and proactive approach to maintenance tasks
- Confident communicator able to work across all departments
- Capable of problem-solving and delivering practical, safe solutions
- Able to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
