Reed Business Support in Bath is seeking a TEMPORARY Facilities Assistant to join the team of a well known business in Bath.
This is a temporary role to start on 17th November – 9th January
Full time hours (8am – 4.30pm)
Office based
As Facilities Assistant you will be responsible for a variety of tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Carry out building repairs such as hanging pictures, minor decoration, and simple plumbing tasks.
- Respond to facilities-related requests from the facilities helpdesk, including ordering and replenishing stationery.
- Assist with the relocation of large deliveries and the preparation of meeting rooms, including setting up furniture.
- Conduct office moves, which may involve working out of hours.
- Escort contractors on site, check works to ensure they are completed to a satisfactory standard, and report maintenance faults.
- Perform Health & Safety inspections and checks, ensure emergency evacuation routes are clear, and fire doors are functional.
- Conduct proactive reporting of near misses and recommend solutions to improve safety practices.
- Perform monthly emergency light checks and weekly water flushing.
- Update online Health & Safety checklists, ensure the ladder register is checked and updated monthly, and replenish first aid kits.
- Record monthly meter readings for gas, water, and electricity.
- Maintain regular communications with the Office Manager and Front of House team to ensure collaboration between departments.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Prior office and facilities experience.
- Excellent team player with the ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently using own initiative.
- Experience dealing with third-party contractors.
- Computer literacy and confidence using Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, SharePoint).
