Job Description :

AJ Chambers are assisting a top International Law firm to help them recruit an Events Manager to support the Business Development team through the planning and delivery of an effective and measurable campaign programme which include events and sponsorship. The role will include a mix of responsibilities: delivering specific activities as detailed below, while providing both general and specific support for the rest of the team as required.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain/monitor the budgets for these events.
  • Ensure cost effective delivery and adherence to set budgets; manage payments, handle invoice queries in relation to events, liaising with budget holders and finance team.
  • Review new event / sponsorship opportunities as they arise with regards to their cost and value to the firm and present recommendations for each opportunity.
  • Plan and project manage each event from start to finish, including bookings, equipment, managing invite lists, catering etc. and attend events as required to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Use Vuture (email marketing system) and InterAction (CRM system) to manage the event invite process; regularly review the effectiveness of this and implement developments and improvements as required.
  • Produce copy as required for event invitations and supporting materials, using the resources available.
  • Create and implement a standard follow-up programme for all events, designed to measure value for money and return on investment; provide reports on follow up activity and successes following the completion of a campaign.
  • Produce and maintain best practice guidelines for the smooth running of events where the events team is not in attendance, and to provide self-help to other people in the firm which ensures a consistent standard of event delivery.
  • Manage a logical filing system for each event and ensure all details are recorded.
  • Communicate effectively with other Business Development team members and other areas of the firm regarding forthcoming events and new event opportunities.
  • Provide support to other team members as required for Seminars and Market Intelligence based activities.
  • Mentor, supervise and support the Events Assistant in all day-to-day duties.
  • Research and analyse the marketplace to keep up to date with developments in events delivery, use of technology etc. and make recommendations
  • Comply with all relevant legal and regulatory obligations including the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Standards and Regulations, and Principles.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Proven experience in events management, to include experience in planning, budgeting, follow up activities and reporting as well as 'on the day’ management.
  • CIM Certificate or working towards certificate or similar is desirable but not essential
  • Experience using Vuture and InterAction is desirable but not essential
  • Previous experience using email marketing and CRM systems is essential
  • Previous experience in a law firm or other professional services firm is desirable

The successful candidate will have an understanding of marketing campaigns, including planning for, implementation and evaluation and have the desire to deliver excellent service for the clients and focus on business benefits and results

A main trait will be to be practical and hands-on, yet able to take a proactive, imaginative and strategic view about the services being provided

The role will offer a competitive salary up to £58k with excellent benefits on top and hybrid working pattern.
