Our client over 25 years at the pinnacle of the natural stone industry, our client is renowned for exceptional craftsmanship, design, and project delivery, They source, design, fabricate, and install natural stone and prefabricated materials from their UK facility, shaping the built environment across London and the Southeast.
The Role of the Estimator
They’re seeking a highly skilled Estimator to join their growing team. You’ll produce accurate, professional cost estimates and tenders for a diverse range of stonework and interior fit-out projects. Your meticulous approach, technical know-how, and communication skills will help them continue delivering prestigious projects to the highest standards.
Candidates without relevant estimating experience in fit-out/joinery /stonework (or similar) will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities of the Estimator
Engage directly with clients to understand project requirements and specificationsAnalyse architectural drawings, bills of quantities & technical documentsSource and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricingCalculate costs of materials, labour, equipment and preliminariesPrepare clear, detailed tenders and cost submissionsIdentify value engineering opportunities to optimise costs without compromising qualityMaintain accurate records of estimates, tenders, and cost dataSupport project handovers and contribute to post-project cost analysisStay up-to-date with industry trends, material costs, and regulationsBuild and nurture relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal teams
What they’re Looking for in you as an Estimator:
? Proven experience preparing estimates for stonework, internal fit-out, or joinery construction projects (essential)? Solid understanding of natural stone, prefabricated stone, porcelain, and ceramics? Strong analytical and mathematical skills to interpret technical drawings and calculate accurate quantities? Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise confidently with clients, colleagues, and suppliers? Commercial awareness and up-to-date knowledge of material costs and market trends? Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), Bluebeam; AutoCAD experience beneficial? Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy? Effective time management to handle multiple projects and deadlines? Collaborative, solution-focused mindset
