Estimator - DCS Recruitment : Job Details

Are you an experienced Estimator looking for your next challenge? We're looking for a proactive, detail-oriented professional to join our team in Cardiff. In this role, you'll play a key part in ensuring accurate and competitive tenders, while supporting the wider construction and commercial teams.

What You'll Be Doing

Tender & Estimating Responsibilities

* Manage the tender process to meet tight deadlines* Accurately measure works using both CAD tools and manual methods* Produce tenders using Causeway Estimating software* Generate accurate prime costs for each project* Identify potential risks and opportunities early in the process* Highlight any inconsistencies or issues in contract documentation* Prepare clear and thorough handover documents for the construction team

Collaboration & Relationship Building

* Build strong relationships with clients and design teams* Develop a high-quality, reliable supply chain* Collaborate closely with senior staff and contribute to team success* Promote a culture of open, effective communication internally and externally

Ongoing Development & Support

* Continuously improve your technical knowledge and financial skills* Keep cost data current and relevant* Embrace and support the use of modern IT systems and software* Seek and apply feedback from the construction team to improve future tenders* Follow and represent our company brand and ethos

What We're Looking For

Skills & Experience

* Proven experience in an Estimating role within construction* Proficient with Causeway Estimating (or similar systems)* Strong technical knowledge and understanding of construction processes* Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities* Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills

Personal Attributes

* Self-motivated, persistent, and reliable* Excellent time management and organisational skills* Flexible and adaptable approach* Common sense and sound judgement* A full UK driving licence is essential
