Estimator - Search : Job Details

Search Consultancy are working in partnership with a progressive, growing utilities contractor who are looking for an estimator to join their current estimating team on a permanent basis. This company has had substantial growth over the last 7 years to a turnover of 20 million, which is still growing.This is a really good opportunity for somebody with civils estimating experience to join a company that is in an upcoming market focusing around ev and fibre infrastructure and substations construction. The team currently have 15 tenders in process at present with more on the horizon. This role will be home based and the successful candidate will be estimating the costs for the project, products and services, reporting to the operations director and in collaboration with the commercial team providing the reports and quotations for each individual phase of the projects.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:* Researching the cost of items such as materials, transport, labour and equipment* Establishing and maintaining relationships with contractors and vendors* Getting quotes from suppliers and contractors within a specified time frame* Assessing the risk levels associated with a project* Preparing and submitting quotations and details of costs for work to be done* Assisting with bids for new contracts* Monitoring the costs at the different stages of a project to ensure it stays within the estimated costs* Be able to read drawings, client specifications and provide a detailed scope of works with breakdown.

Skills and Qualifications:* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work at all levels* Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure* Good presentation skills both written and verbal* Ability to prioritise workload, work to tight deadlines* Demonstrate contractual understanding of buildings contracts* Minimum 3 years experience.

Remuneration:* Circa- £55k basic* Pension contributions of 6%* Private healthcare* Death in service benefit* Bonus scheme- 2x a year, dependent upon performance.
