Our client is a highly regarded long/short equity hedge fund with a strong track record of delivering alpha through fundamental, research-driven investing. They are looking to appoint an experienced Equity Analyst to cover the financials sector, with a focus on European banks.

Role Overview:

The successful candidate will play a key role within a high-performing investment team, taking full ownership of coverage across European banks and financial institutions. This position requires a strong analytical mindset, sound commercial judgment, and the ability to develop differentiated investment views.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct in-depth fundamental research and build detailed financial models
• Develop and present well-supported long and short investment ideas
• Maintain comprehensive sector coverage and monitor key industry trends and catalysts
• Collaborate closely with the Portfolio Manager and investment team to contribute to portfolio construction
• Identify and leverage alternative data sources to enhance research insights

Candidate Profile:

• 3–5 years of experience in equity research, with a clear focus on European Banks, with at least 1 years’ experience working for a hedge fund L/S Equity strategy.
• Strong financial modelling and valuation skills
• Deep understanding of financial accounting and regulatory frameworks, particularly in the context of financial institutions and the banking sector
