Summary *** Internal Applicants only please *** We are seeking an Enterprise Architect to play a pivotal role in shaping our technology landscape. The role is broad in nature, helping to drive our technology roadmap, and ensuring alignment with National Trust strategy and objectives.  This role requires someone that has a passion for technology, clarity of vision and excellent communication and stakeholder skills. You must have experience in the creation and implementation of enterprise architecture, setting standards for patterns and design principles; participating in programmes delivering significant change; architecting complex environments through multiple transition states.  This is a key role within the IT Department and part of our Extended Leadership Team.   The salary is Circa £75,000 (comprised of base salary plus market supplement)  What it's like to work here As Enterprise Architect you will be heavily involved in technology strategy development and longer term roadmapping. You will support pre-project ideation and concept, and conceptual design stages of many projects with a technology component. You will work closely with the CTO and IT Senior Leadership Team, solution architects, and business stakeholders from across the organisation.   Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon and there will be an expectation for you to attend the office. However, there is flexibility on where you are based at other times. You will be required to work at a National Trust location for 40-60% of your working week. This will be discussed in more detail at interview.    What you'll be doing Lead the Enterprise Architecture function, bringing together National Trust staff, contractors and partners. Develop and maintain enterprise architecture blueprints, ensuring consistency across different business units and in support of the overarching technology design process.  Collaborate with domain partners to map out technology views and with solution architects on high level designs.  Provide thought leadership on enterprise architecture best practices.  Evaluate new technologies, tools, and frameworks to enhance our systems.  Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization.  Act as a subject matter expert on enterprise architecture within the organization.  Foster a culture of excellence by defining and refining methods, standards, governance and assurance.   Support assessments of products and designs to ensure suitable technical capability and alignment with our technical roadmap and strategy.  Identify and record technical debt and drive for its resolution.  Participate in strategic boards and design authorities.  Who we're looking for To be successful in this role you will need to have: 
  • Enterprise Architecture Framework qualification such as TOGAF or proven equivalent experience 
  • Significant knowledge of Enterprise Architecture within a cross-functional team or as an Enterprise Architect on a large-scale change programme 
  • Experience of implementing a TOGAF or equivalent Enterprise Architecture model and supporting processes 
  • Experience in creation, management and implementation of roadmaps and frameworks for IT Architecture. 
  • Deep systems experience across multiple domains and comprehensive understanding of the data and integration needs. 
  • A friendly, engaging manner that helps to form good relationships with internal stakeholders at all levels of the organisation, 3rd party suppliers and the National Trust IT team 
  • Ability to adapt communication style to a specific stakeholder group, simplifying language and concepts where needed and diving into deeper technical discussions as appropriate 
  • Experience of software and hardware procurement, supplier relationship management and of working in teams of in-house and 3rd party partners
