Job Description :

We have an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Technician, you will collaborate closely with our teaching staff and students in Further Education Provider in East London.

As an Engineering Technician, you will be responsible:

  • Technical Support: Assisting engineering instructors in the design, development, operation, installation, and maintenance of engineering systems and constructions.
  • Lab Management: Setting up equipment, conducting tests, collecting data, and ensuring the smooth functioning of our engineering labs.
  • Prototyping and Modification: Inspecting and modifying existing designs and prototypes under the guidance of lead engineers.
  • Research and Reporting: Conducting research, collecting relevant data, and preparing daily reports on experiments and projects.
  • Customer Support: Providing technical assistance to students and staff, answering queries, and troubleshooting issues.
  • To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

    • Education: A minimum of GCSEs
    • Vocational Training: Either full-time study for a BTEC/SQA award followed by on-the-job training or an apprenticeship leading to an NVQ/SVQ at Level 3 or 4.
    • Additional Requirements: For specialised areas (e.g. engineering or construction), further professional qualifications may be necessary.

    This role is full time ongoing role

    You will be subject to an Enhanced DBS.
