Engineering Project Manager - Pontem Group Ltd : Job Details

The Company:A global leader in supplying advanced equipment to multiple industries based in Birmingham. Their flexible approach covers 'turn-key' installations and part supply contracts, offering tailored solutions from engineering design to commissioning. Their designs, verified with cutting-edge technology, prioritise user-friendliness and robust engineering for demanding conditions. Collaborating closely with clients, they craft equipment configurations for efficient production, optimal plant layout, and reliability across diverse industrial environments.The Role:As an Engineering Project Manager, you will oversee project planning, and resource allocation, manage budgets, ensure quality standards, and communicate with stakeholders. Responsible for risk management, client interaction, and compliance, You will guide projects from inception to closure, evaluating outcomes and identifying areas for improvement. This role is a 6 - 8 month contract. 37 Hours per week - 8.00 am to 4.30 pm Mon-Thurs, 8.00 am to 1.00 pm Fri. Oversees travel is required.You will take responsibility for:

• Lead end-to-end project management, ensuring timely and profitable completion.
• Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, prioritising external satisfaction with project timelines.
• Understand and fulfil commercial contract requirements.
• Oversee project contracts, ensuring timely and satisfactory completion in line with technical and commercial aspects.
• Provide initial cash flow predictions and manage overall project finances, preparing reports for Senior Management as needed.
• Manage project purchasing, create specifications for multiple suppliers, and provide senior management with project status updates.
• Proactively identify and resolve potential project risks and issues.

It is ESSENTIAL for the successful candidate to have the following:

• Previous experience as an Engineering Project Manager preferably in a Heavy Engineering setting.
• Managed high-value contracts over £10 million.
• Commercially astute with a strong awareness of contract penalties & contract risks.

Other DESIRABLE experiences include:

• Experience within Special Purpose Equipment, Plant Machinery or Capital Equipment would be advantageous but not essential.
• Ideally background in Oil & Gas, Nuclear or Petrochemical projects.
