Engineering Manager - CNC - Simpson Recruitment Services : Job Details

Our client is a one of the world’s leading manufacturers and distributors of cutting tools across UK, Europe and EMEA.

They are currently seeking an experienced Technical Engineering Manager to work closely customers on process improvements, manufacturing strategies and machining projects in manufacturing business across a variety of industries.

Key responsibilities include:

Applications and Projects

• Running, planning, and implementing internal projects to lead the application/ selection of cutting tools across a broad width of machining processes. This will entail working directly with customers to implement their cutting tool solutions.
• Developing engineering machining solutions to inbound customer enquiries and challenges
• Onsite application work including process optimisation, problem solving and cutting tool implementation (at customer).
• Collaborate internally and externally with our customers and to support our sales team to identify where the company can offer improvements to an existing process.

Technical Leadership

• Leading, mentoring and managing all application related activity and team members.
• Passionately train, mentor and coach others in the business to improve engineering and application knowledge and experience.
• Supporting and training sales teams with application skills, process optimisation and cutter selection appropriate to customer needs, both remotely and at customer premises.
• Building from scratch a team of application engineers who support both internally and externally throughout the business.
• Collaborate with the wider engineering department to maximise company growth potential and high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Implement processes and systems that provide data to drive decision making for growth and sustainability.

Candidates will be suitably experienced within CNC milling / CADCAM or have worked within a cutting tool manufacturer having knowledge of cutter selection and optimisation.

Salary level is around £54,000 - 59,000 depending on experience plus bonus scheme, it’s a permanent full-time role with plenty of internal progression and the current working hours are Monday - Thursday from 7.30 am - 4.30 pm and Friday from 7.30 am-12.30 pm with some hybrid working available.
