We are seeking an Employee Relations Specialist on behalf of a client, to join the HR team on a temporary basis. Located in East Sussex, this role is crucial for a highly skilled HR professional who specialises in managing employee relations and ensuring a harmonious workplace.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Advise and support management on employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievance handling.
- Develop and implement employee relations policies to ensure a fair and consistent approach across the organisation.
- Conduct investigations into employee complaints and disputes, ensuring all matters are resolved promptly and impartially.
- Collaborate with HR and legal teams to ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
- Facilitate training sessions for managers and staff on employee relations practices and company policies.
- Monitor and report on workplace trends and employee feedback to improve HR strategies and practices.
- Support the HR team in other areas, such as performance management and employee engagement initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Employee Relations Specialist or similar role, preferably within the aviation or related industry.
- In-depth knowledge of employment law and best practices in employee relations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle complex situations effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of maintaining confidential and sensitive information.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills, with a proven track record of successfully handling workplace disputes.
- Experience in designing and delivering training related to employee relations and HR policies.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Law, Business Administration, or related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (such as CIPD) would be advantageous.
