An exceptional opportunity has arisen within a highly reputable Oxfordshire organisation, for a driven Employee Relations Manager, leading a small but successful team. Reporting to the Head of HR and within a Centre of Excellence structure, you will lead the Employee Relations team to be an effective function, working closely with stakeholders, and delivering an effective employee relations service to the organisation.

Partnering closely with the Deputy Head of HR the L&D & EDI Managers, you will be responsible for continuous improvement across the organisation.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a small team of employee relations specialists, providing them with the support and direction to enable them to provide a full professional, effective and efficient HR service in line with policy & procedure
  • Managing a portfolio of case work, acting as a point of escalation, supporting your team and internal managers, with regards to grievance, disciplinary, absence, family leave and performance management,
  • Acting as a point of escalation for all matters referring to Occupational Health
  • Managing and supporting redundancy processes where necessary
  • Managing workplace change including TUPE processes
  • Developing members of the wider HR team
  • Deputising for the Head of HR where necessary

From a strategic perspective, you will work closely with the Head of HR to develop the departmental HR strategy and associated procedures, develop relationships with key stakeholders and act as HR champion across the department. You will take a collaborative approach in networking across departments, sharing knowledge and best practice.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will have a sound knowledge of employee relations and legislation, be passionate about effective HR management, paired with the ability to lead and motivate a team.

You'll be qualified to CIPD graduate level, or above, with an appetite to further your development.

A strong influencer and relationship builder, you'll have a positive approach and be a true team player, with a continuous improvement mindset.

If you have worked in a Higher Education Institution or the NHS previously, this would be highly advantageous due to the nature of this organisation.
