Are you an experienced Electrical Fitter ready for your next adventure? Babcock are seeking experienced Electrical Fitters to join our team at Devonport Royal Dockyard. We have several exciting opportunites within our programmes, which could see you supporting Warship projects, Submarine projects or within our Estates, Factories and Cranes departments. The roleAs an Electrical Fitter you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. We have several opportunities to support our Submarine programmes, where day to day you'll:

• Work on a wide variety of electrical systems and equipment from distribution, command, and control systems, Such as Weapons, Navigation, and communications.
• Work to engineering drawings and technical specifications, you'll also overhaul existing and install new equipment, you could also be carrying out system and equipment functional tests and surveys.

This is a full-time role, 36-hours per week, based at Devonport Royal Dockyard. Relocation Assistance can be supported, please speak to the recruitment team. We offer Travel Expenses to the Interview (outside of a 35-mile radius of Devonport).

Essential experience of the Electrical Fitter

• You will need the ability to read engineering drawings, to interpret work instructions and be competent in the use of general workshop tools & machinery specific to electrical engineering.
• Ideally you will have worked in the marine engineering industry with experience of Royal Navy ships and submarines, Royal Fleet Auxiliary vessels or large commercial ships - although other relevant experience from other engineering sectors will be considered.
• Demonstrable experience of working within high performing engineering teams focused on delivering engineering projects.
• Demonstrable experience of working on the removal, Installation and overhaul of Marine electrical equipment with a particular focus on weapons handling equipment, communication systems, auxiliary systems & power generation equipment.
• Experience of working within marine electrical engineering environment.

Qualifications for the Electrical Fitter

• Time served apprentice within the field of marine electrical engineering / naval engineering environment
• Indentured Apprenticeship in an Electrical discipline
• Level 3 Modern Apprenticeship in an Electrical discipline
• Level 3 Electrical Engineering qualification

Security ClearanceThe successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
