Electrical Assembly & Test Technician

Salary: £16.00 - £20.00 p/h

Hours: Mon: 7.30am - 4pm, Tues: 7.30am - 4.30pm, Weds/Thurs: 7.30am - 5pm, Friday: 7.30am - 12pm

We’re recruiting an Electrical Assembly & Test Technician for a leading manufacturer of bespoke industrial systems. This is a varied, hands-on role covering complete machine wiring, functional testing, and electrical support across the site.

Key Responsibilities:

• Wire and connect electrical systems including sensors, motors, actuators, and interconnects
• Carry out functional testing, I/O checks, and basic fault-finding before commissioning
• Verify signal paths and safe operation prior to software/HMI integration
• Read and work from schematics, layout drawings, and BOMs
• Support electrical installation tasks such as lighting circuits, distribution boards, and upgrades
• Assist with new machinery installations and improvement projects
• Collaborate with mechanical and design teams during build and integration

Requirements:

• Background in machine wiring or industrial electrical assembly
• Skilled in reading electrical drawings and wiring documentation
• Experience with control devices, drives, sensors, and motors (DOL & VFD)
• Confident in diagnosing and fixing electrical faults
• Flexible to switch between workshop builds and on-site electrical work
• Electrical installation experience (industrial/commercial/domestic)
• Recognised qualifications (18th Edition or equivalent)
