Education Compliance Manager - Desian Education : Job Details

As we grow, we’re seeking an experienced and diligent Education Compliance Manager to lead our compliance function and ensure that all candidates are fully vetted, documented, and authorised to work in educational settings — safely and compliantly.

As Education Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all candidate compliance processes, ensuring every educator we place meets the highest regulatory and safeguarding standards. You will manage pre-employment checks, monitor ongoing compliance requirements, and work closely with internal staff and external partners to authorise candidates for deployment into schools.

This is a pivotal role for someone who is process-driven, understands the critical nature of compliance in education, and wants to be part of a mission-led organisation.

• Own and manage Desian Education’s end-to-end compliance process for all educational staff.

• Ensure all candidates are fully compliant before being placed into schools, including DBS checks, right-to-work, references, qualifications, and safeguarding training.

• Maintain accurate compliance records in line with GDPR and industry best practice.

• Monitor updates in education legislation and update internal policies and processes accordingly.

• Work with recruitment and operations teams to ensure efficient candidate onboarding without compromising compliance.

• Prepare for and lead audits, both internal and external (e.g., REC, DfE).

• Train internal staff on compliance standards, systems, and updates.

• Build relationships with clients to support their compliance needs and provide guidance when necessary.

Essential:

• Prior experience in an education recruitment or compliance role (e.g., Education, Healthcare, or Staffing).

• Excellent working knowledge of Safer Recruitment, Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE), and DBS legislation.

• Confident in managing compliance platforms and systems.

• Meticulous attention to detail and strong organisational skills.

• Clear communicator with the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.

Desirable:

• REC compliance or safeguarding qualification.

• Experience leading compliance teams or projects.

• Familiarity with compliance software or CRMs used in the recruitment or education sector.
