We are seeking an experienced Ecologist to support major infrastructure projects in Northern Ireland, with a particular focus on highway and rail ecological surveys. This role offers flexibility, autonomy, and the chance to lead impactful environmental work within a supportive team.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead and conduct ecological surveys for highways and rail projects.
Ensure compliance with UK and NI wildlife legislation, especially regarding protected species.
Prepare high-quality technical and ecological reports.
Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to deliver project objectives.
Apply cross-disciplinary species knowledge to a variety of projects.
Make informed, independent decisions both in the field and office.
Minimum 3-4 years’ relevant ecological experience.
PTS certification (highly desirable) and ability to work on rail.
Strong knowledge of UK and NI wildlife legislation.
Proven ability to lead surveys and deliver technical reporting.
Full UK driving licence (vehicle provided for site work).
Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
Role primarily based in Northern Ireland; remote review work from other regions may be possible (no travel to Britain required).

Flexible working arrangements available, including part-time options (2-3 days/week).
Travel is required for site work; a hire car or vehicle will be provided.
