We are seeking a dedicated Early Years Lecturer/ Assessor to join our team at a prominent Further Education Establishment. This role involves delivering high-quality teaching across a range of vocational and non-vocational courses, adhering to the Professional Standards for Teachers and Trainers in Education and Training – England. The successful candidate will be instrumental in shaping the educational journey of our students, ensuring a supportive and effective learning environment.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and high-quality teaching sessions within the curriculum area.
  • Implement and oversee assessment procedures in line with College policies and awarding body requirements, including participation in internal and external verification and moderation.
  • Act as a personal and group tutor, providing guidance and setting SMART targets for students.
  • Maintain accurate course and learner records, and track and monitor learner performance using student information systems.
  • Utilize innovative teaching practices and digital resources to enhance the learning experience.
  • Participate in the development, review, and evaluation of the curriculum and contribute to the self-assessment process.
  • Engage in performance management activities, including lesson observations and continuous professional development (CPD).
  • Support the marketing of courses and participate in College events, which may include flexible working hours.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Demonstrable commitment to the Professional Standards for Teachers and Trainers as outlined by The Education & Training Foundation.
  • Experience in delivering vocational and non-vocational courses.
  • Proficiency in using digital tools and resources in teaching, such as Microsoft Office 365 and online learning platforms.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, as required.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills, capable of maintaining high standards of teaching and learning.
  • A proactive approach to continuous professional development and innovation in educational practices.
