Davies Shaw is hiring a production designer/project manager to join its team in Shropshire, UK.

Davies Shaw is looking for a dynamic production designer/project manager to join our team. Davies Shaw is an experienced team of cabinetmakers and designers producing the finest quality bespoke furniture and joinery from our Shrewsbury workshops. Working predominantly within the high-end residential market we work closely with architects, interior designers, developers and private clients across a wide variety of projects. Due to continued expansion, we are looking for a full-time production designer/project manager.

Main responsibilities:

• creation of detailed and accurate production drawings for manufacture & installation
• technical problem solving
• creation of accurate models and part components ready for output to CNC
• programming of components for CNC machining using Alphacam (training provided)
• overseeing projects from concept to completion. Managing all elements during the design, production and installation phases
• specifying and procuring materials and hardware for projects
• undertaking site visits to carry out survey work or to attend site meetings -travelling would be nationwide with the possibility of staying overnight

Key attributes:

• experience in the furniture design & manufacturing industry
• proficient in the use of SolidWorks, AutoCAD and SketchUp. Alphacam an advantage
• proven ability to generate accurate, detailed production drawings
• strong technical knowledge of materials & manufacturing techniques
• experience designing components for CNC machining
• a structured mindset with good time management
• proactive and dynamic with great communication skills
• responsive, self-motivated and team-player
• passion for design, detailing and fabrication
