Location: Royal Berkshire Hospital, RG1 5AN

Pay Rates: £12.45 per hour

Shift Patterns: Monday- Sunday 5 days a week (37.5 hours a week)

Hours: Service starts at 6:30am through to midnight (working 8 hours a day)

Drivers are at the heart of the NHS, you'll make sure that our patients, goods and supplies are where they need to be at the right time.

You'll find solutions to everyday problems, such as:

• You will be responsible for driving patients to their desired destinations. Whether it's taking them to appointments or dropping them off at their homes, your role is essential in providing timely and comfortable transportation of up to 5 patients at a time.
• Keeping Trust vehicles safe and clean is a top priority. Regular cleaning services and maintenance checks are part of your responsibilities.
• Using navigation apps, you'll determine the best routes based on road conditions. Your ability to plan efficient routes ensures that our clients reach their destinations promptly. Staying up to date with traffic and weather reports allows you to adjust routes as needed to avoid heavy traffic or roadworks.
• You'll assist clients with embarking and disembarking of the vehicle, ensuring their comfort during the journey and pushing their wheelchairs safely and carefully, to and from, the vehicle.

What you'll need:

• Proven experience as a Van or Ambulance Driver with a Category C1 Driving licence - Essential.
• Full, Clean UK Driving Licence.
• Knowledge of Reading and surrounding areas, roads and neighbourhoods.
• Be physical active and possess a calm, polite and friendly manner.
• Availability for occasional weekend shifts or working through to midnight.
