Concern Worldwide (UK) is looking to appoint an Interim Director of Fundraising from mid-March to the end of December 2024. This role will be based either in the London or Belfast office, the post holder will need to have knowledge of the UK fundraising market. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a highly motivated and committed team that helps Concern support some of the world’s most marginalised communities and respond to major humanitarian emergencies as a member of the Disasters Emergency Committee,

The Director of UK Fundraising leads the development of Concern UK’s voluntary fundraising activities across the UK, delivering sustainable income growth.

About the role:

You will be responsible for providing strategic vision and leadership to the Fundraising Department, ensuring alignment with Concern Worldwide's mission and fostering a culture of innovation and success. You will lead the development and implementation of Concern UK's fundraising strategy to drive sustainable income growth and coordinating integrated fundraising activities across different Concern entities. Additionally, you will manage relationships with donors and stakeholders, monitoring departmental outputs against budgets, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and codes of practice, and representing Concern UK externally in various forums. Overall, you will play a crucial role in driving fundraising success and maintaining the organisation's reputation and compliance standards while providing leadership within the organization and representing it externally.

About you:

You are an experienced leader with significant management experience across various fundraising disciplines, capable of achieving exceptional results. Your ability to inspire, empower, and motivate teams is essential, along with a commitment to embodying Concern's values. You will possess strong analytical skills, excel in managing complex plans and large budgets. You have excellent communication skills, both externally and internally, coupled with experience in media relations and public speaking. The successful post holder will have experience with volunteer trustee boards, a grasp of INGO fundraising challenges, and will ha including an understanding of anti-racism principles. About our office:

Concern is currently trialling hybrid model. Staff are expected to come into their base office once per week or the monthly equivalent i.e. 4 times per month. Staff are also able to flex their start and finish times between the hours of 7am to 7pm daily.
