Bonhill Partners are supporting a leading global financial services organisation in their search for an experienced Director of Infrastructure Strategy & Enterprise Architecture . This senior leadership role will own the definition and execution of infrastructure strategy, enterprise architecture, and service management across the region.
The Role
You will be responsible for shaping and delivering a long-term infrastructure roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and global standards. The position requires a proven track record in strategy and architecture delivery—not advisory, but hands-on execution within complex, regulated environments.
As a key leader, you will oversee and develop a community of architects, providing both direct line management and indirect leadership, while working closely with senior stakeholders, technology teams, and external partners.
Responsibilities
- Define and deliver infrastructure strategy and enterprise architecture for the region, aligned with global objectives.
- Lead the execution of a 5 year roadmap, covering digitalisation, vendor consolidation, and infrastructure modernisation.
- Drive the transition of on-premise end-user services (e.g., VDI estate) towards modern, cloud-enabled solutions.
- Shape and manage a multi-cloud strategy (Oracle, Azure, AWS), ensuring integration with decommissioning programmes.
- Partner with networking, cyber security, and service management teams to design and operate secure, automated, future-ready services.
- Champion innovation in areas such as AI/GenAI, exploring opportunities to enhance automation, end-user experience, and operational efficiency.
- Build and foster a community of architects across the region, providing thought leadership, coaching, and alignment with enterprise practices.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience as a Director (or equivalent) in Architecture within global, regulated organisations (financial services strongly preferred).
- Hands-on background in enterprise architecture, with exposure to multiple domains beyond end-user computing.
- Demonstrated success in leading both strategy creation and execution, not advisory-only consulting.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience leading both direct reports and influencing broader teams.
- Deep knowledge of financial services technologies, including cloud, platforms, telecommunications and networks, digital workplace, data management, and artificial intelligence (including GenAI).
- Expertise in multi-cloud environments (Oracle, Azure, AWS) and their integration into complex infrastructure ecosystems.
- Strong understanding of regulated industry requirements, including audit, risk, and compliance considerations.
- Future-focused mindset, able to translate emerging technologies (e.g., AI, automation) into practical strategies.
