SEO Content Writer

Up to £25k, depending on experience

Hybrid after probation

Take creative control of your own portfolio of clients.

We are looking for a Content & SEO Specialist to work within the SEO department’s Content Team. Here, you’ll deliver quality and optimised on-page copy for your own portfolio of clients, whether that’s an exciting blog that builds their brand, or a product page that converts like crazy.

What does it involve?

From beauty start-ups and dog accessory companies to a range of car clients and businesses that make millions a year; you’ll be responsible for their content delivery and SEO. But, you’re not in it alone…

You’ll work alongside an Account Manager who handles each client personally. So, while you’ll be present on client calls to discuss strategy or ask questions to help with your work, don’t worry - your main focus will be creative delivery. On top of that, you’ll have a team of 10 other content executives that you can collaborate with, learn with - and have a cuppa with, too.

We also like to promote from within. In fact, all three team managers in the SEO department started as juniors over five years ago. While you may begin as a Content & SEO Specialist, there’s space to grow into a position as a Strategist, Lead or beyond.

You can also get your own set of hours per month (often around 15-20) dedicated to your personal development. With these, you can take part in courses we pay for, work on projects that excite you or simply study up on the ever-changing world of SEO.

Where do you fit in?

People with a strong creative flair typically thrive in the role and an expert grasp of written English is essential. A thirst for knowledge and collaboration will help you massively, along with an attention to detail and empathy for your client base.

On top of that, SEO knowledge is crucial. While we have developed learning pathways and many resources to help, we want you to come in knowing what sets a good keyword apart from a bad one. We want you to be comfortable explaining why internal links are so important, and what you’d use a H1 tag for on a website.

Typical Tasks

  • Writing commercial copy (product/category/service page) and blog posts
  • Delivering keyword and competitor research
  • Generating strategies and content ideas, individually and within a team
  • Working and communicating with a dedicated Account Manager for each client
  • Communicating with the client over phone or email

Required Skills

  • Experience writing both commercial copy (such as service and category page copy)
  • Experience publishing and uploading a variety of content.
  • Some experience working with content systems (CMS), such as WordPress and Shopify
  • Some knowledge of SEO

Desired Skills

  • Experience communicating with stakeholders and other team members
  • Experience with tools such as Ahrefs, Buzzstream and Screaming Frog.
  • Comfortable with Google Suite, Google Drive, Search Console and Analytics.
  • An English/ creative writing degree or portfolio
