Exclusive role – DevOps Support Engineer– Greater Belfast – c£40,000 per annum

Are you an experienced DevOp support engineer seeking a new challenge?

REED Technology Belfast are currently working with one of Northern Irelands largest Software Houses based in Belfast.  Due to continued growth and expansion they are seeking to add an additional DevOps support engineer to their fantastic team.

This agile company is at the forefront of their marketplace with expertise in cloud-based technologies.

The role:

As a DevOps & Customer Support Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining, testing and enhancing our infrastructure and tools to facilitate seamless software development and release processes.

This position offers a unique opportunity for full control and responsibility, supported by a network of skilled software developers. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, security and efficiency of our cloud-based infrastructure, primarily on Microsoft Azure, while providing first-line support to our valued customers through ticketing systems and direct interactions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build, test and maintain infrastructure and tools to support software development and release processes.
  • Perform server maintenance and support for downtime and reboot processes.
  • Provide first-line customer support via ticketing systems, including platform training and running database queries.
  • Support and incident resolution for application and system software, as well as network services.
  • Assist in managing and maintaining cloud-based infrastructure and services on Microsoft Azure.
  • Collaborate with the development team to resolve infrastructure and software deployment issues.
  • Create and maintain scripts and automation tools to streamline infrastructure administration and software deployment.
  • Ensure access control and vulnerability management and monitor system security.
  • Adhere to internal tasks and schedules, including ESET, Windows Network and Windows Updates.
  • Customer interaction and incident management.
  • Creating Customer Reports.
  • Onboarding / offboarding of customers.
  • Reviewing customer telecoms data, planning, implementing and testing of any changes
Essential Criteria
  • Educated in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
  • Experience and understanding of cloud-based infrastructure and services, particularly Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience with systems such as listed below as desirable.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g. PowerShell).
  • Familiarity with software development processes and tools, including continuous integration and delivery.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
