Development Manager - SNG (Sovereign Network Group) : Job Details

We have an opportunity for a Development Manager to join our Regeneration and Major Projects Team. You'll be based out of our head office in Wembley, combining office and home working to ensure a positive work/life balance.

What you'll be doing

Reporting to the Head of Regeneration, this role will lead and support the identification of regeneration opportunities within the region supporting the implementation of regeneration strategies.  The role will progress projects, from inception, through the planning process to secure a satisfactory planning consent, skilfully manage scheme risks and support delivery partner selection and appointment for onward handover to the Delivery teams.

Responsibilities include:

• Lead and support the identification and acquisition of regeneration opportunities in line with the organisation's regional development strategy and investment strategy.
• Support strategies to progress the redevelopment of regeneration sites as required, leading teams as directed by senior members of the team to progress legal, technical and planning due diligence to secure the optimum outputs for SNG. Work closely with colleagues from the Customer directorate and wider business to implement residential community and resident engagement initiatives that lead to successful outcomes for Customers. 
• Deploy strong project, programme and financial management throughout the pre-construction stage. Report upwards as required and track, flag and mitigate risk in a timely manner. Maintain a risk register and update as the project evolves.

What we need from you

• Experience in the housing sector, ideally with a track record of taking projects from conception to acquisition, appointing and managing consultant teams to secure new opportunities.
• Financially literate, with the ability to input and interpret complex development appraisal models.
• Good understanding of commercial practices relevant to delivering new development.
• Good knowledge of building contracts with a broad understanding of procurement methods for new build and regeneration.
• Track record of building relationships with stakeholders and partners with the ability to influence and negotiate positive outcomes.
• Driving licence with access to own vehicle.
