Development Engineer - Solid People : Job Details

Development EngineerSalary - Circa £35,000 DOELocation - In office, WantageWe're supporting a global leader in packaging innovation, they have been operating for over four decades and are a powerhouse in designing, manufacturing, and distributing packaging solutions for both consumer & industrial sectors. As a pioneer in packaging solutions globally, they're growing rapidly and are looking for passionate Development Engineers to join their thriving team. • Use CAD (SolidWorks) to design metal packaging components, tools, and machine parts
• Organise and undertake product as well as process development work in the technical facilities: setting up equipment and manufacturing samples for testing, demonstration, and customer trials
• Evaluation and proving of new product specifications
• Generation of product manufacturing standards and specifications
• Transfer technology into the manufacturing plants, preparing the necessary documentation, providing. commissioning support and demonstrating capability against dimensional and performance requirements
• Provide a problem-solving resource to the operations, helping resolve manufacturing issues
• Conducting product testing, and proving product and process specification changes

Experiences required

• Must have similar professional industry experience within manufacturing or engineering environments
• Educated to degree/HNC level or time served through apprenticeship or placements
• Competent user of SolidWorks or similar: Solid Edge, Inventor or Fusion 360
• Extensive experience in designing for manufacture, assembly & installation (DFM, DFA)
