Design Engineer -NPI - Certain Advantage : Job Details

Design Engineer CIRCA £50 Per Hour LTDDerbyshire Contract – Outside of IR35,Certain Advantage are working on behalf of a global supplier of precision-machined components and sub-assemblies. Due to continued growth, an opportunity has arisen for a Gas turbine Design Engineer (NPI) on a contract basis and can be worked through your own LTD Company. The role is located in the Derbyshire areaSeeking an experienced problem solver to conduct analyses and contribute to innovating in New Product Introduction (NPI) programmes.Experience in Design and development of:

• Compressor/Fan Structural and rotating parts.
• Rotating Shaft, Shaft cone, Bearing support and Bearing design
• Development rig design, analysis and integration.
• Material selection
• 3D part modelling and drafting.
• Interface control definition
• Stack up/Layout creation.
• In depth knowledge of GD&T, manufacturing methods.
• Part tolerancing with Design for manufacturing applications
• Performing design calculations related to Stress strength, stack up.
• Preparation and review of certification reports.
• Collaborate closely with Team Leaders of other departments and Project Management,

Additional knowledge would like to have.

• Knowledge of Gas Turbine Static strength and lifting analysis
• Certification reports, design record book and definition solutions accounting for layouts, clash checks, materials, weights and tolerances.

Education Requirements: Mechanical Degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline (mechanical, aerospace/aeronautical).Computer/Software Tools

• PC-based Windows applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• UG NX, PLM Teamcenter.
• Hypermesh
• ANSYS Workbench/ ANSYS classic or similar tool
