Priory Hospital Cardiff is recruiting a Deputy Ward Manager to join our team.

Our Shift Pattern is: 07:45 - 19:30

Priory Hospital Cardiff is a modern mental health treatment unit. The unit includes a variety of facilities, such as three secure gardens, a gym, a hydrotherapy pool, patient practice kitchens, a patient social area, art rooms and dedicated support service areas. The service is currently being developed to provide bespoke treatment packages for a variety of patients with complex mental health needs. The unit will provide a modern, homely environment promoting independence, whilst employing an experienced multi-disciplinary team to oversee and support patient progress.The role of a Charge Nurse is to provide senior nursing leadership to the nursing team in support of the Clinical Lead and Unit Manager.

The Successful candidate will:

• Have clinical and leadership experience that provides the expertise and confidence required to support the wider nursing team.
• Be able to respond flexibly to change and the developing needs of the service.
• Be responsible for deputising in the absence of the ward manager if necessary and therefore must demonstrate a willingness to develop and expand on their existing roles and responsibilities.
• Be role models for their peers and demonstrate core priory values at all times therefore the expectations of this will need to be clearly set out.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Abilities

• Registered Nurse with active NMC PIN with 2 years post-qualifying experience.
• Relevant clinical experience.
• Demonstrates a positive attitude and commitment to change, improvement and quality.
• Ability to develop and use flexible and innovative approaches to practice.
• Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.
