Your Role
As Deputy Manager, you'll work closely with the Registered Manager to oversee daily operations and uphold high quality care:
- Support and supervise a committed support team delivering person-centred care
- Help create and maintain individual support, behaviour and risk management plans
- Coordinate multi-agency communication and represent the service with families, health, and social care professionals
- Facilitate residents’ community participation—including activities, appointments, and independent living skill development
- Manage rotas, staff inductions, and maintain documentation and compliance
- Act as manager on duty in the Manager’s absence and support continuous improvement
What We’re Looking For
Essential Qualifications & Requirements:
- Level 3 Diploma/QCF/NVQ in Health & Social Care or equivalent qualification
- Experience as a Deputy Manager, shift leader or senior support worker in supported living or residential care
- Full UK driving licence—required for resident transport and community access
Knowledge, Skills & Personal Qualities:
- Strong understanding of autism, learning disabilities, and complex communication needs
- Empathy, patience and excellent interpersonal skills
- Leadership capacity: coaching, motivating, and supervising staff confidently
- Ability to work flexibly, calmly under pressure, and with a problem-solving mindset
- Commitment to person-centred values, promoting dignity, independence and choice
Desirable:
- Level 5 Diploma or working towards it
- Previous experience with Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) or behaviour management frameworks
- Experience in care coordination and liaison within the health/social care system
