Database Engineer - Grundon : Job Details

Are you passionate about turning data into actionable insights?

We are looking for a Database Engineer to join our team based in Benson. Reporting into the Finance Director you will take ownership of our data warehouse and help drive data informed decision-making across Grundon.

In this pivotal role, you’ll manage and optimise our Jet Analytics Data Warehouse, ensuring it performs reliably and scales with business needs. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain robust data solutions that support business intelligence, reporting, and analytics.

What you’ll be doing:

• Own and evolve the Jet Analytics Data Warehouse, ensuring best practices and high performance.
• Design scalable architecture that consolidates data from internal and external sources (including via APIs and Connectors).
• Ensure data integrity, accuracy, consistency, and security across the platform.
• Optimise data loading processes and query performance for efficient reporting.
• Work with Business Analysts to understand requirements and integrate new data sources.
• Document data models, flows, and structures to support development and troubleshooting.
• Monitor project timelines and ensure timely delivery of data-related initiatives.
• Ensure full compliance with all Company policies and procedures including health and safety and employment.
• Any other duties, such as ad hoc projects, as requested by the job holder’s Manager/Supervisor or the Board of Directors that are within the skills and capabilities of the job holder.

What You’ll need:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in BI, report development, or data analysi
• Strong SQL skills and understanding of data warehousing best practices.
• Experience working with Azure Fabric.
• Skilled in data modelling and transforming raw data into actionable formats.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong focus on performance optimisation of queries and data pipelines.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Experience with DAX, Jet Reports, or NAV is desirable but not essential
