Data Engineer Location: London Length: 6 Months Rate: £290 - £334 p/d PAYE Hours: 9am-6pm This client is a top 5 tech giant with a global retail operation, video streaming platform, and has a big imprint in web services. This is a hybrid role, so you will split your time between home office and the clients offices in central London. On-site you will be able to access their amazing facilities and quirky working spaces.Job Description: The Security Products group is responsible for the protection of customer and corporate data. They are connected to all parts of the organisations business and it’s massive, worldwide service-oriented architecture. They are starting the work on a new mission critical system that will preserve and improve the trusted experience that the organisation provides to its customers. This is a greenfield initiative with plenty of opportunity for innovation in the security space through new machine learning techniques. They are seeking a Data Engineer with a great passion for data, and an insatiable desire to be curious and invent. A commitment to team work, hustle, and strong communication skills (to both business and technical partners) are absolute requirements. Creating reliable, scalable, and high performance products requires exceptional technical expertise, a sound understanding of the fundamentals of Computer Science, and practical experience building large-scale distributed systems.Basic qualifications:• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent• 3+ years professional experience in data engineering y• Python or Java or Scala expertise for data analysis and data modelling• Knowledge of scalable computing systems, software architecture, data structures, and algorithmsPreferred qualifications:• Experience working with cloud and distributed software services and an understanding of design for security, availability, and performance.• Sharp analytical abilities and proven design skills.• Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.• Demonstrated leadership abilities in an engineering environment in driving operational excellence and best practices.• Proven results and a history of project delivery• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
